Ikea Time

ikea

I just moved into the new apartment, and needed a desk. There was only one solution, Ikea time! The Ikea here in Dublin has just opened this summer so the store was full of first timers. It was like taking kids to their first trip to a theme park, lots of bubbling smiling Irish.

I was able to pick up a decent desk (69 Euro), desk chair (39 euro), plates, cutlery, mugs, and glasses much cheaper than the malls here.

More assembly pics below.

So many peices

So many pieces. I think I will take a nap first.

Legs on Desk

My creation has legs!!

Hutch

It’s looking like a desk.

Done

Done! Who says I’m not handy? (Yes, I keep my pens in a roll of hockey tape)

HEY! I happen to love IKEA. My friend and I just went to the one in Minneapolis/St.Paul this summer. Here’s my post about it. :) http://strandupdate.blogspot.com/2009/07/holy-shikes-i-forgot-about-ikea-sonic.html

You’re brave. I assembled Ikea furniture once and it was my last attempt. It took me six, yes SIX hours to put together a dresser only to find that I had put the drawers together backwards and possibly upside down. Now I just pay my friends to do it :)
