My name is Wes Wilson, I use to say here that I was a Canadian Medical Student but after spending some time home with old friends I realized I didn’t quite like the feel of ‘medical student’ being my defining quality. So instead I will say I am a Canadian that enjoys playing hockey, computers and technology, discussing time travel and tachyons, playing in the snow, drinking hot beverages, and who also just happens to be studying medicine abroad.
My hobbies and activities are quite varied, and from day to day I change my mind on what I want to do when I am 50 years old. It normally falls somewhere in between 1) buying a boat and sailing the Mediterranean and traveling from island to island healing the sick, to 2) joining the RCMP and solving mysteries like a Canadian Colombo, or Quincy, in which the roll of Sam is played by Julia Stiles instead of Robert Ito. Did you know that Robert Ito was on both the original Kung-Fu and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, and appeared on 4 different medical dramas? Pretty cool right? (I’m Counting M*A*S*H as a medical drama).
Some of the things I enjoy doing include acting and theatre, science, graphic design, freestyle skating, skiing, hockey, molecular genetics, and most recently taking pictures on my new DSLR.
I have been to three universities, in three different countries (Canada, Ireland, USA) and long for the day I will be out of school, in the same sort of way a ferret in a pet store longs for freedom but not like an alcoholic longing for drink. The difference of course being that an alcoholic knows what he is going to do with his beer.
Here you can find my blog, my photos, as well as information on some of the many projects I work on.
I am also a co-founder of AlphaCarbon Studios, a Web and Science based media production company.
The best way to reach me is by email wes at alphacarbon dot com, I have disabled comments on my blog as I sadly no longer have the time to reply to all of them but if you want to say something about one of my posts or wish me luck on some en devour you can of course always e-mail me (an idea I stole from Shirley).
